Haslers quiz night
On Thursday March 2nd 2017 FCGAGA was kindly invited to the Haslers Foundation annual quiz night which was held at Chingford Golf Club. The whole evening was a total success and It was interesting to meet other charities who were also invited such as St Claire Hospice, Havens Hospice, Jewish Care and Mobility trust. A big thank you once again to Haslers Foundation who made all the invited charities most welcome and could not have done any more on what was a fantastic evening.
Feed The Streetz
FCGAGA has started this project which feeds homeless people in east London every Friday morning who mainly sleep in Stratford Shopping Centre, we also feed homeless people in Plaistow, Leytonstone and occasionally Wanstead . At present FTS is supported by Haslers Foundation who have kindly offered to make monthly contributions, Jan, Rob and Irve all from Wanstead plus Zahra and Amber from Walthamstow. A big thank you to all of these people for they have made it possible for homeless people to wake up to a Breakfast Bag on a Friday morning. The main aim is for FTS to go out two mornings a week with thirty Breakfast Bags feeding the homeless for as long as it is needed.
For I strongly believe that no- one should go hungry regardless of their circumstances.
If you would like to support this project be it by making a donation, buying food or wanting to help then please get in touch through this website.
I trust you all had a great Christmas / New Year and just want to thank everyone for their kind support of FCGAGA last year. In order for us to keep operating in the copmmunity which we enjoy doing funds and donations are essential to our work so i'm asking for your help with this if possible. If you can not make a donation of any amount then please let your friends, families and the community know about us and ask them to make a small contribution to our charity .
Many thanks in advance Frank Charles.
Richard House Children's Hospice Xmas Visit 2016
on Tuesday 20th December FCGAGA made it's thirteenth consecutive Christmas visit to Acorn Children's Ward at Whipps Cross Hospital to deliver presents. In attendance were staff from Haslers Foundation, Jon, Joanna, Rhonda and Nancy who kindly donated loads of presents to the appeal which was much appreciated. Yet again the response this time from various partners in donating toys was immense and gratefully received by the sick children on Acorn Ward. A big thank you to all the staff on Acorn Children's Ward who always make us feel very welcome every time we visit. The visit was a very emotional one as there were so many sick children who were unable to come to the play room for the traditional photo. Prior to leaving Acorn Childrens Ward I met some footballers from Leyton Orient FC who were visiting the chilren and I had a photo taken with them. A big personal thank you to Haslers Foundation for all their support throughout the years, Josh and Dafne from the Leytonstone Salvation Army and Doreen Golding ( Pearly queen of Old Kent Rd and Bow Bells).
It was a delight to delivery some requested presents to Elisha Coker at Richard House Children's Hospice in Beckton. These gifts will help Elisha with his development whilst giving him hours of fun and pleasure. Visited Richard House Children's Hospice in Beckton bringing some toys to a one year old child called Rumaisa Hamza who has Edwards Syndrome FCGAGA were only too pleased to help Rumaisa and her family. I was shown around Richard House by Shahina ( Family Support Services Manager) and introduced to some of the staff and children who were there on the day and given a insight into the work and structure of the place which is carried out daily at Richard House Children's Hospice. As the Rio 2016 Olympics Games were still on I brought along my Olympic Torch from the London 2012 Olympic Games so that anyone at Richard House Hospice who wanted a picture with it could have one taken , this went down very well with the staff and children who seemed to enjoy the whole experience .
FCGAGA took Avenue Kids Club , staff and parents to the seaside at Margate for a day trip the sun shone throughout and the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves especially on the beach and in the sea.
Hello my name is Frank Charles and I am 52 years of age , I am retired from full time work due to having stage four blood cancer and cancer of the bone marrow. After completing the last two items on my bucket list in 2015 all that remains is for FCGAGA to be very active in the community helping where we can bringing a little joy and comfort to those in need.
